ASAHI FUBUKI®: High-Performance Neurovascular Guide Catheter Platform for Stable Procedural Support

The ASAHI FUBUKI® is a high-performance line of neurovascular guide catheters in 6, 7 and 8 Fr — a stable platform for neurointerventional procedures, pairing a soft atraumatic tip and flexible distal shaft with a well-balanced rigid proximal shaft, hydrophilic coating and full-length radiopacity.

What Is the ASAHI FUBUKI®?

The ASAHI FUBUKI® is the foundation of Asahi Intecc’s neurovascular guide catheter line — a high-performance family offered in a wide range of sizes to provide a stable platform for neurointerventional procedures.

The construction pairs a soft tip and flexible distal shaft, which minimise vessel injury, with a well-balanced shaft of increased rigidity that provides stable deployment and optimal pushability once the catheter is seated.

Technical Specifications

The FUBUKI is offered in 6, 7 and 8 Fr with shaft inner diameters of 1.80 mm (0.071 in), 2.05 mm (0.081 in) and 2.28 mm (0.090 in) respectively, in angled and straight tip shapes, and in usable lengths of 80, 90, 100 and 110 cm.

Hydrophilic coating runs from the tip to 15 cm (5 cm on the 8 Fr and Stiff types, and on the Dilator Kit 6 Fr), smoothing navigation through the aortic arch and vessel ostium. A platinum marker at the tip and radiopaque material in the shaft keep the catheter visible under fluoroscopy along its full course.

Clinical Applications

As the neurovascular guide platform, the FUBUKI provides the proximal stability over which microcatheters, guidewires and devices are delivered intracranially — the balanced shaft holds position while distal systems are advanced and exchanged.

The size range lets centres match lumen to procedure: 6 Fr for standard access, 7 and 8 Fr where larger inner diameters are needed for intermediate catheters or combined systems. The 043 distal-access format and the FUBUKI Dilator Kit extend the same platform for distal and smooth-introduction work.

Technique Tips

Choose tip shape to the arch and target vessel: the angled configuration assists selective engagement, while the straight form suits exchange-based approaches. The coated segment at the distal end is what carries the catheter through the arch and ostium — advance it with the dilator or an inner catheter for a smooth transition.

Select the usable length (80–110 cm) against access route and the working length of the intermediate and microcatheters that will run through it, keeping enough proximal catheter outside the sheath for exchanges.

Ordering Through Modern Medical Solutions

Modern Medical Solutions is the authorised Asahi Intecc distributor for Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The FUBUKI is available in 20 catalog configurations — 6, 7 and 8 Fr, angled and straight, across 80, 90, 100 and 110 cm usable lengths.
