Epic™ Plus Mitral and Aortic Stented Tissue Valves
For decades, Epic™ has been the surgical valve platform that cardiac surgeons and patients have relied on for more flexibility and more possibilities. The Epic™ Plus Mitral and Aortic Stented Tissue Valves represent the newest generation of the Epic™ Platform, providing the same trusted durability and performance — plus significant improvements to radiopacity and implantability. Built on the proven legacy of its predecessors, the Epic™ Plus valve is designed to enable future interventions and implantation for even the most challenging patient anatomies, so that surgeons and patients can continue to depend on the Epic™ Platform both now and in the future. The Epic™ Platform is defined by strong hemodynamics, intuitive implantability and a future-forward design. The platform's optimal leaflet design mitigates regurgitation, while the flexible cuff is designed to minimize the risk of paravalvular leak (PVL) and easily fit patient anatomy. Stent symmetry eliminates the need for specific orientation, and a flexible polymer stent offers more forgiving insertion and seating. The Epic™ Mitral valve's ratcheting holder streamlines implant and reduces the risk of suture looping, while the platform's cuff options allow for secure suture placement while limiting suture drag and parachuting. Across the platform, low, symmetrical stent posts eliminate the need for specific orientation at implant. In the mitral position, low ventricular protrusion helps avoid LVOT obstruction; in the aortic position, low overall stent post height mitigates the risk of coronary obstruction. Linx™ anticalcification (AC) treatment is applied to the tissue.
