The Regent™ aortic mechanical valve offers surgeon-friendly implantability, featuring a low valve implant height that helps ensure coronary ostia clearance. Two distinct cuff types — FlexCuff™ or Standard Cuff — provide different options to suit each case, and the valve is engineered to deliver exceptional hemodynamics in small aortic root patients. Because prosthesis-patient mismatch (PPM) can be problematic in the aortic position, Abbott designed the Regent™ valve specifically to avoid this issue: its orifice-to-annulus ratio ensures large effective orifice areas (EOAs) and reduces PPM. The Regent™ valve also shows low thromboembolism, thrombosis and bleeding over a wide international normalized ratio (INR) range. The Regent™ is part of Abbott's family of the most trusted mechanical valves in the world, with more than 3 million patients treated worldwide and more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications. It is available across tissue annulus diameters from 17 to 29 mm in both Standard Cuff and FlexCuff™ configurations.

The unique Pivot Guard Design offers benefits both during implant and post-implant.
- 1.Shields the pivot mechanism from pannus ingrowth
- 2.Minimizes interaction with sub-annular native valve apparatus in the mitral position and ensures coronary ostia clearance in the aortic position
- 3.Enables an 85° leaflet opening angle, minimizing leaflet flutter and leading to smoother laminar flow through the orifice
- 4.Can lessen thrombus formation by minimizing carbon surface area and thanks to the washout flow through the hinges
