ASAHI Gaia® PVProduct Code (REF): PHW18R102S
ASAHI Gaia® PV translates the Gaia rotating-core composite wire technology — originally developed for coronary CTO crossing — into a peripheral vascular format for below-the-knee and femoropopliteal CTO intervention. The rotating-core construction delivers precise 1:1 torque transmission from hub to tip, allowing the operator to feel differential resistance between fibrous and true-lumen tissue as the wire is rotated within the occlusion body — a tactile feedback mechanism that reduces subintimal passage rates in experienced hands. The Gaia PV applies the graduated tip-load approach familiar from coronary CTO work: starting with a lower tip-load variant to navigate the occlusion with controlled penetrating force, escalating to higher tip loads if resistance increases. The peripheral format includes longer wire lengths and modified tip geometries appropriate for tibial, popliteal, and superficial femoral artery anatomy. Available in multiple tip-load grades, 200 cm and 300 cm, 0.014 in.

Penetrability by "Micro-cone tip"
The ball tip was made smaller to increase its penetration efficacy. The micro-cone tip makes it easier to make the entry route to the hard tissue and fibrous cap.

Tip flexibility
By taking advantage of tip flexibility, ASAHI Gaia PV easily avoids hard tissue and advances smoothly. Deflection control: Guiding the wire to the distal true lumen with rotational control by using deflection which occurs when advancing a shaped GW.

1mm pre-shaped tip
The pre-shape of the tip is incorporated in the production process, significantly increase tip shape retention.
