ASAHI Halberd® 0.018 brings the Halberd concept to the 0.018 in peripheral platform: a stiff-tip CTO guidewire combining a 12 gf tip load with a micro-cone ball tip whose reduced ball diameter concentrates penetration force for crossing resistant and calcified peripheral occlusion caps. The wire is offered straight or with Asahi's mini pre-shape — a 1 mm curve applied during manufacturing that spares the operator manual tip shaping and can be efficiently reshaped to a more acute angle when the anatomy demands it, with shape retention maintained throughout the procedure. Hydrophilic coating over the working segment (with an uncoated ball tip preserving tactile feedback at the point of contact) supports smooth advancement, and an 11 cm radiopaque segment keeps the distal wire visible during manipulation. Usable lengths of 200, 235 and 300 cm cover antegrade and exchange configurations in femoropopliteal and below-the-knee CTO work.
