SheathLess PV® Peri-Vascular Guiding System applies the sheathless access principle — developed by Asahi Intecc for the coronary SheathLess Eaucath platform — to peripheral vascular intervention. By inserting the guiding system directly through the arterial wall without a conventional introducer sheath, SheathLess PV reduces the total arterial puncture profile by eliminating the sheath wall thickness, allowing a larger inner lumen guide to be used through the same puncture that would otherwise limit sheath size. In peripheral vascular intervention, this is particularly relevant in radial-access peripheral cases (where the radial artery diameter limits sheath size) and in patients with compromised femoral access where minimising the puncture profile is clinically important. The ability to use a larger-lumen guide through a smaller effective puncture size improves equipment deliverability — especially relevant for complex peripheral interventions requiring larger guide lumens for atherectomy devices or covered stent delivery systems.
